1. Purpose

2. Scope of Work

4.  Materials

  • Kota stone slab use for flooring work should be of approved shade and colour as
    per BOQ specifications and approved drawings.
  • Cement used in preparing mortar should be of approved make only, conforming to
  • IS 269.
  • Sand used in preparing mortar should be conforming to IS 383.
  • Water used for preparing mortar should be clean and free from any impurities and
    conforming to IS 456.

5. Material delivery

  • Helpers
  • Safety Officer

6. Material Storage

  • Kota slabs shall be stack vertically on planks or on other supports, free from contact with the ground. Damaged, warped, or chipped slabs shall be rejected immediately and documented through an NCR (if applicable).
  • Material shall be stored in such a way that the least effort/ distance to shift the material to the required location.

7. Manpower

Project Engineer, Site Engineers, Supervisors, Foremen, QC Inspectors, Skilled Masons, Helpers, Safety Officer.

8. Safety Precautions

  • Ensure all workers have proper PPE (gloves, helmets, goggles, safety shoes).
  • Stack stone slabs safely; maximum height 1.5 m.Ensure scaffolding is stable, braced, and inspected regularly.
  • Maintain clear walkways free from mortar, debris, and waste.
  • Manual lifting to be done only by trained workers.
  • Prohibit throwing debris from heights.

8. Responsibility

The Project Manager/Construction Manager shall be responsible for the overall implementation of this procedure.
