1. Purpose
The purpose of this Method Statement for Marble Flooring is to define the sequence, materials, manpower, safety, quality control measures, and workmanship requirements for Marble and Granite flooring works. This procedure applies to all Engineers, Supervisors, QC personnel, and workers involved in the activity.
2. Scope of Work
This Method Statement covers the installation of Marble and Granite flooring across all designated areas as per approved drawings. The scope includes material supply, handling, installation, grouting, finishing, and protection of completed works.
The scope includes:
- Supply of approved stone materials.
- Surface preparation and layout.
- Fixing of stone slabs/tiles.
- Grouting of joints.
- Polishing, buffing, and finishing.
- Final cleaning and protection.

5. Safety Precautions
- Ensure all workers have proper PPE (gloves, helmets, goggles, safety shoes).
- Stack stone slabs safely; maximum height 1.5 m.
- Ensure scaffolding is stable, braced, and inspected regularly.
- Maintain clear walkways free from mortar, debris, and waste.
- Manual lifting is to be done only by trained workers.
- Prohibit throwing debris from heights.
- Barricade openings and edges; use safety belts.
6. Responsibilities
The Project Manager/Construction Manager is responsible for the full execution of this method statement. Site Engineers shall ensure proper layout, supervision, and adherence to quality. QC Engineers shall inspect materials and verify compliance. Safety officers shall enforce safety measures.

9. Inspection of Materials
All slabs and tiles shall meet the tolerance requirements as follows:
